A story about two feet, the joy they rendered, and the unbeknownst trauma.

Our feet— an instrument of our folklorista passion. The passion that we cannot bear to keep to ourselves. From within, we feel, we can almost even see, our music: the sounds that we must share with others. And so, our feet (piecitos), are an essential piece of our sharing and our release of our music and passion within us.

Have you ever considered the trauma of these piecitos?

The story.

Two piecitos on stage! Two piecitos on the dance floor. Two piecitos in the store, down the aisles, expelling the sounds learned earlier that week. Everything these two piecitos did, they did with love, expressing their passion through the sounds they pattered on any floor beneath them.

One day, after many years had danced by, the two piecitos who relaxed under the sol on the playa burrowed their little toes into the sand. The warmth of the soothing sand refreshed their little hearts and the piecitos peered out through the sand to look at one another. But, they were suddenly startled. Peering at one another under the solecito, they could not believe their eyes. Their toes were dry and scaly, and "oh my!" their little nails were disfigured, brittle, and colored. What could have caused their piecitos to end up like this? They gave so much of themselves to so many audiences, how could this be?

The piecitos began to reflect through the many pasitos in their lives. Their lives within their botines. Their lives within their calcetines. Their lives as they did not replace their outgrown favorite par de zapatillas. Their lives when they did not cut back their nails, because they were just so pretty, not realizing that it would induce trauma. Indeed they forgot to care for their outer selves while they took care of their inner selves.

The piecitos decided it was time to share their story so that other piecitos may fair better.

How to keep your piecitos happy on the outside too.

Replace your favorite pair of folklorico shoes when they are too tight.

A pair of folklorico shoes that are too big will allow your foot to slide forward, causing trauma to your toes!

Wash and dry your feet properly when you shower.

When you notice any athlete's foot, use antifungal ASAP.

Wash your tennis shoes, and spray your folklorico shoes with antifungal spray.

Change your socks daily, and bring an extra pair of socks for all day dancing.

Keep your toenails short to prevent them from nail trauma.
