Two dance sets of up to three-minutes each. 1st set: at the entrance. 2nd set: on the court.
Performing: Calabaceados— 1 or 2 dances total
Time required to be at the arena: 10:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (maybe 4 p.m.)
Parents and family will not be allowed in the back. Dancers only, plus maestros, a board member and maybe one or two parents who will help. Absolutely no guests.
Dancers-- anyone going into the back-- should wear their Nube gear. Black Nube t-shirts.
Infantil & Juvenil performers can participate if they learn the dances. The dances will be taught on the following days:
Fridays, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.*:
Dates for choreography:
September 30 * October 7
October 14 * October 21 * October 28
*Juvenil can join after juvenil class at 7:30 p.m.
Performers' responsibility & commitment:
1. Performers are responsible for their performance outfit (very simple):
Pair of jeans (ladies: blue jeans; men: black jeans) (no patterns, NO HOLES)
Norte style, long-sleeve shirt
Jazz shoes (black)—no folklorico shoes allowed on court floor
Black folklorico shoes/boots (for performing in front of the arena)
Ladies: hair should be in a ponytail, with a bow (color of your choice)
Osvaldo has purchased black Tejanas
2. Performers must attend the designated rehearsal dates and times above.
Kings will provide us a link for discounted tickets for parents/friends.
Jazz shoes can be found on Amazon, Capezio, Payless. Make your own bow, your color choice.
